WW2 German Relic Army Issue M40

WW2 German Relic Army Issue M40

Code: 10513

A relic WW2 German Army issue model M40 Combat Helmet

Said to have been recovered from the Kurland battlefield which lasted from Autumn 1944 to the Spring of 1945

Note - The courland ( Latvia ) Peninsula where a group of Nazi German forces were cut off and surrended by the Red Army of Russia ( Resulting in a victory for the Soviet army )

What adds substance to where the helmet was said to have been recovered is that the Kurland offensive was a winter battle and the riveted vent holes would help eliminate cold circulating air within the shell

Note - Soldiers would sometimes also stick paper or mud into a vent hole to prevent the above happening

A nice period helmet with history that shows and has actually been there

Postage is included in the price, U.K only
